Garage Sale

This past weekend we participated in a garage sale with some other neighbors. Originally I was just going to give my neighbor some things to sell for me but we quickly realized how much we had to sell so decided to get our own permit and have one at our house too. We advertised in the McKinney paper and on Craig's list and of course put out signs. We opened our doors by 8 both on Friday and Saturday and had people come pretty quickly after that. Friday we sold our guest bedroom furniture and basically everything that was not baby related. Saturday we sold more of our baby stuff and sold a chaise lounge that we hated to get rid of but didn't have room for anymore. All in all I think we made close to $200.

It was a lot of work though and I am in no hurry to do it again anytime soon. Sitting out in the heat, organizing, cleaning and haggling with strangers isn't my idea of a great weekend but at least we have gotten rid of a lot of stuff and our garage looks like a garage again and our attic has a little extra space.
