Santa Has Come

Just a quick entry about our Christmas. Christmas Eve was spent going to an early church service at 4:00. It wasn't quite the same without Rev. Kathleen. It's hard to believe that it's already been 3 weeks since her death. Her family wasn't at our service but I imagine that they attended a later one. Both kids did great during church. Claire sat with my parents and colored. She held up an unlit candle during Silent Night just like everyone else. Sam enjoyed pretending to read the Hymnal while we were singing songs. It was funny to see him trying to sing along with us.

Christmas morning saw Sam awake around 6:00 and Bill went and laid with him until almost 7:00 when he finally let him get up. Claire woke up around 7:00 and by 7:30 we let them go downstairs to see what Santa brought. Grandma and Grandpa came down for the event. This year Santa brought Sam a telescope, guitar, ball game (like skeet ball) and a Wiggles toy. He brought Claire a Dora tent, shopping cart, rocking horse and Wiggles toy. Sam was excited to see that Santa ate all of the cookies that he left for him and that Rudolph ate the carrot.

The kids also got lots of books, puzzles, clothes, games, Dora dress up clothes, Diego toys etc. They went down to grandma and grandpas to open presents down there too. All in all it was a great Christmas and the kids are greatly enjoying all of their new things.
