Sam's School Program

Today was Sam's end of the year program at school. Bill, Claire and I along with Bill's parents all went to watch this morning. It was only for the Tuesday/Thursday 2 year old classes. The kids came into the gym and Sam saw me right away and ran over yelling "mommy, mommy!" We had to tell him to go with the rest of his class. The program was run by the Movement Teacher which is basically a PE teacher. She had them demonstrate many of the things that they have learned throughout the year like galloping, skipping etc. Sam seemed overwhelmed for the first several minutes and just stood there with a blank stare on his face. He finally snapped out of it and started to participate. The kids each got a beach ball and showed off different skills using it including an obstacle course. Sam did very well with that. At the end of the program the teacher put music on and had the kids do different movements. Sam had fun dancing and when the song was over they all took a bow. As they were leaving the gym it hit Sam that he wasn't coming home with us and he got very upset. One of his teachers had to pick him up and carry him which Bill predicted, I didn't. Otherwise, the program went very well and was quite entertaining.
